Engels turns down Namibian World Cup offer

Blue Bulls prop and Super 14 winning front row forward Jaco Engels has turned down an opportunity to play for Namibia in the World Cup, because he still has dreams of playing for the Springboks.
Cosafa shock as Castle ends sponsorship

The recent announcement by brewing conglomerate SAB Miller to terminate an 11-year sponsorship of the regional Cosafa Castle Cup this week, will adversely affect the smaller regional countries, who hardly compete at international level such as the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) and the World Cup, if Cosafa fails to lure potential sponsorships.
Namibian quartet join AK FC
Submitted by editor on Thu, 08/02/2007 - 13:17.Four Namibian soccer players have joined South African Mvela League side AK FC in preparation for the 2007/08 season.
Former Orlando Pirates coach Ali Akan took over as AK FC coach in July and wasted little time in signing up Namibian players. They are his former Pirates defender Ivan Namaseb, African Stars winger Freedom Puriza, Civics midfielder Dumisa Jantze and Ramblers striker Costa Khaiseb.
Namibia to compete in Kenya

From the 17th to the 19th of August, the Moto-Cross Africa Championships 2007 will be hosted in the vicinity of Kenyaâ??s capital, Nairobi.
Planning by the Namibians already started early this season, but by March it was clear that the costs for the Namibian national team would be too high. As often before, the endeavour failed due to the costs for the transportation of the bikes. Unfortunately the invitation had to be turned down.
