An average day for Namibian swimmers

Namibian swimmers failed to reach any finals on the second day of swimming at the All Africa Games on Friday, July 13.
Jonay Briedenhann and Corinna Wahl both competed in Heat 2 of the womenâ??s 50m butterfly event. Briedenhann finished sixth in a time of 31,05 seconds, which was outside her personal best of 31,97, while Wahl came seventh in 32,55, also outside her personal best of 31,97.

Uutoni starts with easy victory

Japhet Uutoni opened Namibiaâ??s boxing campaign at the All Africa Games with a convincing points victory against Ronald Surugo of Uganda on Thursday, July 12.
Namibiaâ??s bantamweight Commonwealth Games champion easily won the bout 28-9 on points over four rounds to progress to the second round, but he was not as sharp as he would have liked.
