Snewe dismisses bribery claims
Submitted by editor on Wed, 06/27/2007 - 13:27.Mighty Gunners coach Dawid Snewe has dismissed claims that he bribed players to lose a match, saying that he was a man of integrity and would become involved in bribery issues.
Benfica owner Peter Amadhila opened a case of bribery against Snewe, whom he accused of bribing six of his players to throw a match on June 10.
Namibian coaches off to Brazil
Submitted by editor on Wed, 06/27/2007 - 12:30.Nine Namibian football coaches will leave for Brazil shortly to attend various coaching courses from July 1 to 30, 2007.
The courses were facilitated by the Namibia Football Association, as part of a Special Capacity Building Programme, and will consist of coaching and instructors programmes on offer by the Brazilian Football Academy of Dr Augustino Neto.
Husselmann is new coach
Submitted by editor on Wed, 06/27/2007 - 09:41.Hakkies Husselmann has been appointed as the new coach of the Nambian rugby tem, following the dismissal of Johan Venter.
The chief executive officer of the Namibia Rugby Union told Namibia Sport that Husselman had been appointed after giving a good account of himself at the IRB Nations Cup in Romania.
Gymnasts excel at Central Zone Championships
Submitted by editor on Wed, 06/27/2007 - 08:40.The artistic gymnastics season for the central zone gymnasts started in Windhoek on Friday, June 22 and Saturday, June 23 with the Hollard Central Zone Championships.
A total of 45 boys competed on Friday afternoon and 142 girls on Saturday.
