The DRC beat Ethiopia 2-0

The Democratic Republic of Congo went three points clear at the top of Group 10 of the African Cup of Nations qualifiers when they beat Ethiopia 2-0 in Kinshasa on Sunday, April 29.
Portsmouth striker Lomana LuaLua flew overnight from Britain to score on Sunday in a rearranged CAF Africa Cup of Nations Group 10 qualifier in Kinshasa.

Title beckons for Civics

Civics will be crowned the 2006/07 Namibia Premier League champions if they beat Tigers at the SKW Stadium on Friday evening.
With only three matches remaining in the league, Civics are seven points clear of second placed Oshakati City and will make sure of winning the title if they beat Tigers.

10-man Stars beat Pirates

African Stars gained a psychological edge over Orlando Pirates when they won their Premier League encounter 1-0 at Windhoekâ??s Independence Stadium on May 2.
Stars had to play most of the second half with ten men after Brouwers Litombo was red-carded for a foul, but they defended well to hold on to their 1-0 lead.

Van der Merwe, Wessels miss out on World Cup squad

Veteran flanker Schalk van der Merwe and flyhalf Emile Wessels are the only notable absentees in a squad of 49 players that the Namibia Rugby Union (NRU) has selected in preparation for this yearâ??s Rugby World Cup.
