Weekend Sport Preview

We have a bumper package of sport throughout Namibia this weekend, ranging from boxing, cricket, swimming and cycling to tennis and of course, soccer.

Cricket

Namibia takes on Northerns in their last Group A match at the Wanderers field this weekend. Their three-day SAA Challenge match started on Thursday, with Northerns declaring their first innings at 358/7, while Namibia reached 82/1 at stumps.

Northerns held a slight advantage over Namibia at the end of the first day of their SAA Challenge match in Windhoek on Thursday.

Simon to make long awaited comeback

Namibiaâ??s former world champion boxer Harry Simon will make his long awaited comeback at the Benam Boxing Tournament at the Sam Nujoma Stadium on Saturday evening.
Simon, who fought more than five years ago, is still undefeated as a professional boxer with a record of 23 victories from 23 fights. He will come up against Stephan Nzuemba of Gabon who has an impressive record of 11 wins and one loss from 12 fights.
