Namibia win four medals at Special Olympics

By Festus Nakatana

The Namibian Special Olympics team returned this week from the 2007 Special Olympics World Summer Games, with two silver and two bronze medals. The five-a-side male soccer team coached by Black Africa goalkeeper Arnold Subeb returned with a silver medal after losing to Iraq in the final.

Meroro wins in style

Vikapita Meroro got back to winning ways in dramatic fashion when he beat Edward Nhundu of Zimbabwe on a first round technical knockout at the Windhoek Country Club on October 13.
Meroro had suffered his first defeat as a professional boxer in his previous fight against Stan Kanislov of the Ukraine, but he was in awesome form to overpower Nhundu and notch up his ninth victory in 10 professional fights.
