2007 Calendars available!

Namibia Sport has made 2007 calendars which are available now.
The calendars include some of our top sport photos of 2006, covering sporting codes like soccer, rugby, motor rallying, athletics and cycling.

Top Three Showdown

The top three teams in the Namibian Premier League will battle it out this weekend and the outcome could see a reshuffle at the top of the table.
Tird placed Civics take on log leaders Ramblers and second-placed Tigers in matches that could change the log standings significantly.

Pirates sign up four players

Orlando Piratesâ?? new coach Ali Akan has signed up four new players in his bid to strengthen the team.
They are defender George Tsamaseb from Ramblers; Life Fighters midfielder Milton Nauseb, who is the younger brother of Brave Warriors midfielder Robert Nauseb; Chief Santos midfielder Ben Ben Law; and Oshakati City midfielder Chepela Chepela.

Pirates, Puma announce partnership

Orlando Pirates FC and PUMA on Tuesday mutually announced a long-term â??official suppliersâ? partnership deal coming into effect on February 1, 2007.
The long-term agreement that will see the Peoples Team endorse the Puma brand beyond the 2010 African Cup of Nations in Angola and the FIFA World Cup in South Africa, was blessed by Orlando Pirates vice chairperson Mabos Ortman and Puma agent Jurie van Tonder at a the Orlando Pirates club house. Also present to witness this milestone occurrence was the Orlando Pirates founding member Ou Lemie /Narib, acting NFA Secretary General Barry Rukoro, coach Ali Akan, players and supporters.

SKW outcome on Thursday

Namibia Premier League team Cymot SKW will only know on Thursday the outcome of a hearing in which they are accused of using an unregistered player in two league matches at the start of the season.

Namibia go top in SAA Cup

Namibiaâ??s cricket team has gone to the top of the log in Pool A of the SAA Cup limited overs competition after beating Easterns by seven wickets on Sunday.
Namibia collected four points for the victory which puts them at the top of the limited overs competition with 22 points after six matches.

Hansa Pilsener Cup draw

The third round matches in the Hansa Pilsener Cup Soccer tournament will take place at Gobabis this weekend.
The competition is played by lower division teams and the surviving sixteen clubs in the tournament went into the hat today at the draw in Windhoek.

Snyman stars in Namibian victory

Gerrie Snyman scored an unbeaten century as Namibia beat Easterns by seven wickets in their SAA Cup limited overs match at the Wanderers field today.
Namibia restricted Easterns to 209/8 off their 45 overs and then comfortably reached the winning target with only three wickets down and six overs to spare.

Namibia, Easterns draw

Namibia and Easterns drew their SAA Challenge match at the Wanderers field on Saturday.
Easterns made a determined effort to reach the winning target of 275 runs, but ran out of wickets and at the end of play had reached 218/8.
