South Africa beat Namibia 7-3 in an exciting encounter to take a 2-0 lead in their Indoor Hockey test series on Friday night.
The match started dramatically as Namibia attacked from the start. Siabonga Martins already found the net in the first minute, only to be disallowed for an earlier infringement. Then Joseph Kashamako put in a fine dribble and had a shot cleared off the line. Namibiaâ??s pressure finally paid off when Kashamako scrambled a cross into the net to the delight of the home crowd.
South Africa has grabbed the chance to play Namibia in an Indoor hockey test series, as preparation for the 2007 World Championships, while it hopes that the Namibian series can develop into an annual event which could include more African countries in future.
