Republikein dominate sports awards
Submitted by editor on Wed, 10/25/2006 - 14:36.The Republikein newspaper was dominant in the First National Bank Sport Media awards today with Boet Matthews winning the Reporter of the Year award.
Matthews also won the Weekly Columnist award while Francois Poolman of the same paper won the Photographer of the Year award. The Republikein was also named as the best newspaper.
Ongwediva Boxing Bonanza
Submitted by editor on Wed, 10/25/2006 - 14:16.Telecom Namibia and NamPower have injected N$230 000 towards the hosting of a professional boxing bill in Ongwediva on November 11.
Telecom Namibia put up $150 000 for the event while Nampower weighed in with $80 000 for the bill which will feature 11 non-title bouts.
Old Mutual Victory Races prizegiving
Submitted by editor on Wed, 10/25/2006 - 10:05.Old Mutual Namibia handed over prizes to the value of N$55 000 to the winners of the 2006 Victory Races Series in Windhoek on October 25.
Reinhold Iita, who was the overall winner in the Senior Menâ??s category, after winning all three legs of the Series, received N$10 000.
