A brilliant year for Black Africa
Submitted by editor on Fri, 12/24/2004 - 12:11.Black Africa capped a brilliant season by beating Blue Waters on penalties to win the FNB Charity Cup at the Khomasdal Stadium on December 18.
After a lean spell dating back to 1999 when they last won the Namibia Premier League, Black Africa game back with a bang, winning all the major cup competitions in 2004. On March 21, goalkeeper Arnold Subeb was their hero as they beat Ramblers 3-1 on penalties after a goalless match to win the inaugural New Era Sam Nujoma Cup.
Black Africa are the Cup Kings
Submitted by editor on Fri, 12/24/2004 - 10:32.Black Africa capped a brilliant 2004 to win the MTC Christmas Cup in Windhoek on December 11.
Their 1-0 defeat of Civics via a 12th minute goal by Wilfried Coetzee, gave them the N$115 000 first prize and their third trophy of the year. In March they won the inaugural New Era Sam Nujoma Cup and in May they won the Tafel Lager NFA Cup. It was an astonishing feat following a cup drought dating back to 1999.
