13 records shattered

Since the beginning of November, Namibian swimmers have broken a total of 13 national age group records.
At the recently held FINA World Cup in Durban, 15 year-old Jonay Briedenhann improved a total of eleven short course records, including six in her age group (15-16) and five open records. She also achieved qualifying times for the Commonwealth Games and World Championships scheduled for next year.
At Gala 5 of the 2005/06 swimming season, Stefan van Zijl (16) broke the long-standing 800m freestyle record held by Heiko Horn of 9:36:00, with a new record time of 9:35:61.
In the same event for boys 13-14 Byron Briedenhann broke Quinton Delie?s record with a new time of 9:48:03.
