Davin loses in first round

Top-seeded Suzelle Davin was knocked out of the first round of the girls? singles competition at the ITF?s South & Central African Junior Tennis tournament in Windhoek on August 1.
Namibian national, Davin was beaten in straight sets, 6-0, 6-4 by South Africa?s Jane Pringle.
There were no other upsets in the girls? competition, with the next five seeds all going through to the second round. They are the South Africans Chane Hines, Engela Olivier, Justine Sutherland, Marne Roos and Namibia?s Elrien de Villiers.
In the boys singles competition all the top seeds progressed to the second round.
The top seeded Jurgens Strydom of Namibia beat Serdan Mamedkuliyev of Turkmenistan 6-3, 6-2, while the second seeded Rupesh Roy of India beat Reghard Smith of South Africa 6-2, 6-1.
Third seeded Bokand Setshego of Botswana beat Alon de Koker of South Africa 6-2, 6-1, while fourth seeded Brad Williams of South Africa beat Dean O? Brien of South Africa 6-4, 6-2.
Fifth seeded Mpilo Migogo of South Africa beat Driaan Zeelie of South Africa 6-7, 6-1, 6-1 and sixth seeded Ruan Roelofse of South Africa beat Josphat Nsakanya of Zambia 6-1, 6-0.
Seventh seeded Lofo Ramiramanan of Madagascar beat Pieter Schalk Becker of South Africa 6-0, 6-0, while eighth seeded Gregory Anderson of South Africa beat Terence Mazungaire of Zimbabwe 6-3, 6-1.
Besides Strydom, the only other Namibian to make it to the second round was Johan de Wit. The 15th seeded De Wit beat Mathieu Vallet of Mauritius 6-2, 6-1.
Ben Piet O? Callaghan lost his first round match 6-3, 6-1 to South Africa?s Dean O? Brien, while Devin Klein lost 6-3, 6-0 to Kabelo Banda of Botswana.
Rudolf Kuschke lost 6-3, 7-5 to South Africa?s Driaan Zeelie, while Damian Rickerts lost 6-1, 6-0 to Josphat Nsakanya of Zambia.
Henco Serdyn lost 6-0, 7-5 to Mathieu Vallet of Mauritius, while Freddie Nel lost 6-0, 6-0 to Alon de Koker of South Africa.
Misha Hartmann lost 6-0, 6-2 to Rickus Becker of South Africa.
