South Africaâ??s Under 20 soccer team beat Lesotho 3-0 to qualify for the semifinals of the competition.
South Africa took control from the start with two quick goals in the opening 15 minutes.
Striker Sibosiso Ntuli opened the scoring with a neat lob over Lesothoâ??s goalie in the 8th minute and barly three minutes later their captain Excellent Walaza made it 2-0 after a quick exchange of passes with Thulani Maseko.
Another goal after the break gave South Africa a resounding win.
At the Sam Nujoma Stadium, Namibiaâ??s men were held to a 1-all draw against Swaziland. After their exellent 1-0 win against South Africa on July 27, Namibia struggled to gain control against Swaziland, but the draw also sees them through to the semifinals.
South African women thrash Zambia
In the womenâ??s competition, South Africa marched on with another great display, by thrashing Zambia 5-0.
The match took place more than two hours later than scheduled in the cold winterâ??s evening and South Africaâ??s coach Augustine Makalakalane at first threatened to withdraw his team due to the poor organisation. The match however finally got underway and South Africa once again demonstrated that they are in a class of their own at this tournament.
